Governors donates N200m to Abule-Ado relief fund.

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, has donated two hundred million naira to the Abule Ado Emergency Relief Fund to help alleviate the sufferings of victims of the March 15 explosion in Ado Soba area of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State


The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi announced this today when he led a delegation on behalf of the Forum, in company of his Kano and Edo State Counterparts, Umar Ganduje and Godwin Obaseki on an on-the-spot assessment of the extent of damage and to commiserate with the government and people of Lagos state.
Governor Fayemi who thanked the Lagos state government for its prompt response to the emergency, as well as the Covid-19 cases, assured Nigerians that the Governors’ Forum would do everything within its ambit to rescue the Country from economic meltdown.
Governor Fayemi who recalled that Lagos had witnessed incessant incidents along its pipelines, said the visit would allow them to make recommendations and to take proactive measures to ensure protection of lives and property.
The host Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu earlier told Journalists that he and his colleagues had throughout the week held very deep discussions on the unfortunate incident, hence the visit of the high powered delegation.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, other top Government Functionaries, Heads of Response Units, Security Agencies and other stakeholders were on ground at the incident scene.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had visited the scene of the incident on Monday during which he inaugurated a Fact Finding Committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat and announced an Emergency Relief Fund of two billion naira, which the state immediately committed the sum of two hundred and fifty million naira to with an appeal on corporate bodies and individuals, to support in helping the victims .
